Financial Fury
Mar. 2nd, 2009 01:05 pmCFI, my college loan holder, sent me a notice that I was "past due" in repaying them. Now, I have yet to receive a bill from them, so this was odd to me. I called them. After being on hold for a half an hour (with hideous, hideous hold music) they told me that they had not sent a bill because the school hadn't sent them enrollment details until just recently indicating that I am not technically a student (I'm kind of in this weird liminal state right now- not paying tuition, not enrolled, but still a student because I am graduating May). So they then placed me in repayment status as of the first of January. And they reported the non-payment to the credit agencies. As we'd like to get a mortgage soonish, this is not good. And not fair, as far as I'm concerned, seeing as I never received a bill. On top of it, they act like its all my fault, and I'm trying to avoid them or something, for pete's sake, I am very diligent about keeping them up to date with contact info, even if they are diligent about misplacing it (how many times have I given them my phone/email? good lord). Grrr... so I have an email address to contact to see if I can get them to issue a correction. I knew this was just going to be a big bother and lo and behold its exceeding my expectations.
Sorry, peeps, but venting on LJ is better than punching a wall. And with our walls being what they are, I would probably punch a hole through them. Now I will go to work, which suddenly looks more fun after dealing with this nonsense.
