ilex_cassineI can't get jack diddly done on my writing projects. I'd like to have a committee of some damn sort before the end of the semester and a good proposal draft seems in order if I'm gonna do this. But I hate writing so much that its not going well.
So I'm working on finishing some other projects which have been lurking, so perhaps as long as I'm doing something I should be at peace with my productivity level. 1-2 hours minimum in the lab looking at burnt up bits of wood and trying (oh lord, with as minimal of a reference collection as I've got its really trying) to id them. At this point, I think a good next step is going to be to upgrade the reference collection. Pity I'm not in the vicinity of good ol' Steven Cabinets so I could grab some obscure wood bits from them. I need to look into getting a hold of some wood working shops and tromping about in the woods looking for logs (that's the prob with the collection I've got now- its all branch wood. No damn good).
