Ah, another recruit for the anthro army
Dec. 15th, 2004 01:54 amSo, a student emailed me today and said that he really enjoyed my course and was probably going to major in anthropology. How neat. I feel like I must have done something right teaching wise for that to happen. Especially since he was one of the students who was a wee bit difficult at me sometimes. Now I have to think of some useful advice other than: "damn, kiddo, you picked the wrong school if you are interested in ethnobiology." Sigh. Well, he's in undergrad, so he doesn't have to specialize yet, at least.
(I admit, I have a problem with calling some students "kids." Its not right of me, I should be more respectful and they are only 11 years younger than me or thereabouts, but they are very kid-like sometimes so I slip up)
I seriously wish I hadn't accepted that free iced mocha from the new coffee shop employee who was practicing. Its sweet of the Daily Grind folks to give me stuff while I'm sitting bored at my bookstore job, but now I can't sleep.
