Bleh and bleh, so that's my two cents
Nov. 3rd, 2004 10:13 amSigh. I had a migraine last night. And my stupid dentist(s) didn't manage to replace my fillings properly, so now it a) hurts to eat and b) I can't bite and chew properly as the teeth on my right side won't meet up. For some reason, those things like everything else feels like a Republican conspiracy right now.

Comment one: WHY THE FUCK DO WE STILL HAVE THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE SYSTEM!!!? Its time to graduate, USA. I thought the electoral college was completely stupid when it was explained to me as a twelve year old, and I think its completely stupid now. The electoral college system made sense it the pre-telecommunications era, when communications between the capital of the country and the hinterlands was a slow and tricky business, but now? Now it makes no sense at all. People will claim that "oh no, the little wee underpopulated states won't have a voice!" but that is bullshit. My presidential vote is going to be continually for naught as long as I live in NC, so I and many others don't have a voice, either. At least the electoral college votes ought to be universally proportionally distributed, a la Maine.
Comment two: As much as the "election" of W pisses me off, the fact that NC elected Richard Burr over Erskine Bowles pisses me off even more. I have never in my life received so much misleading, garbagey campaign materials as from Richard Burr. Some of the brochures implied that if Richard Burr was elected, you'd get a new house. I need to fish one out of the recycling and send it to now Senator Burr, with "Where is my fucking house, dipshit?!" scrawled on it.
