An ethical quandry...
Sep. 17th, 2004 08:39 amOn Monday I saw something sad and nasty on the way to work. It was a dead kitten, about 5 months old, sandy colored (he looked like Marxy!). He had been smashed by a truck in the road and his eye was on the ground out of his head along with copious amounts of blood. Not what I needed to see before 8 AM, or ever, really.
When I walked home from the bus later in the day, the dead kitten had been removed.
This morning I saw signs up "Lost kitten, sandy colored, 5 months old, needs his meds" Ugh. I'm wondering if I should call these people or leave them in the dark, free to dream up happy alternative life scenarios for the kitty (like: Maybe a little old lady who rarely leaves her house and hence failed to see our flyers plastered everywhere found him and is spoiling him shamelessly, after taking him to the vet and discovering the need for meds). I'm not sure what to do here. Bleh.
