Okay, living in the internet media closet as I do, I have no idea if the fact that Scooter Libby wrote a really bad, nasty novel called "The Apprentice" has permeated the mainstream media. I wasn't going to post about it in here, because it is just too nasty. Even though I find it horrifying on several levels, not because I'm anti-porn per ce, but because this guy is part of the administration and that makes him a flaming hypocrite in charge of policies of torture. As the editor of the British Literary Review said in response to the book, "God, they’re an odd bunch, these Republicans.”

But I decided to post because there is something else I just found out about it that sent my jaw crashing to the floor. The preppy poetry publishing house that I interned with (unpaid, of course) for a semester, Graywolf Press, supposedly published the first edition whereupon it was picked up by St. Martins. What the hell? I don't recollect that book, at all, in the remainders shipping room. I just can't believe it. I'm actually tempted to call them to verify this, as the website doesn't list it.
