Stolen bike tire
Jun. 13th, 2005 01:51 pmSo, someone stole my front bike wheel. I really wonder why, as there isn't a significant resale market for wheels, not one that I've been able to find, at anyrate.
I went to several bike shops around town and they all said the cheapest front wheel they could provide would be 75.00. I tried to contact the local Recylery, but I can't find current contact information from them. The only web info I could find about them was an article in the Independent about them getting kicked out of their space about a year ago, so they don't look like a viable option.
I can get a whole new bike from Target for 80.00, which I think I will do. Ah, the efficiency of capitalism at work. Sheesh. Making it difficult to reuse anything, go markets!
I can use a new seat and break pads, so I'll strip the new bike of those things as well as the front wheel. I don't know what I'll do with the rest of the bike, though. I guess I'll keep it around in case I need a back wheel.
