No tzars, czars or otherwise for me please

I feel the urge for a tiny rant and this seems as good of a place as any for it.

Why on god's green earth does the media think its a good idea to anoint any new cabinet level administrative/leadership position with the moniker "tzar" (or czar, if you are merriam-webster).

Czar \Czar\ (z["a]r), n. [Russ. tsare, fr. L. Caesar C[ae]sar; cf. OPol. czar, Pol. car. ] A king; a chief; the title of the emperor of Russia. [Written also tzar]

Do we really want the equivalent of kings running around in the white house? Is this royalty envy? I don't want someone who can be confused with Ivan the Terrible in my government. This is a democracy (nominally at least).

I was hoping it was just a fad when they started referring to a "drug tzar" but now we have a "homeland security tzar" and soon will have an "intelligence tzar."

I'm all for encouraging the use of words that include the letter z, z is my favorite letter, but this tzar business is just inappropriate.
