Cursed Bike Tire
Aug. 18th, 2005 02:47 pmI hate tasks that take twice as long (or more, in this case) as I think they will. Goddamitt! My bike tire went flat while I was at school. No biggie, I thought, I'll just pick up an innertube and remember my bike pump tomorrow and no problem. Well, its tomorrow and there's a problem. I have never, never needed that little plastic hook tool to change an inner tube. Never. So when I grabbed the pump, I thought, should I grab the hook tool that everyone says you need to change tires? And I thought, naaaa. That was a mistake. A Nice Man helped me get the tire off, but I can't get it back on with the new inner tube. Insert 1,000 "Feh"s here. Now my fingers hurt and smell of rubber and my bike is still not ridable. Round two of tire changing, with hook tool, is scheduled for tomorrow at 2.
On the bright side, I sucessfully identified butternut shell (julgans cinerea) for the first time today. Butternut is not that common in the south; its found only in the mountains of NC.
